Gdansk Weather at Christmas
Does it snow in Gdansk at Christmas-time?
It is a reasonable question to ask. You’re going to the north of Poland in late November/December to visit the Gdansk Christmas market. Some snow would be nice, right?
Well, the weather anywhere cannot be guaranteed unfortunately and, despite some common misconceptions, it does not snow in Poland every day in winter 🙂
Generally, the weather in December in Gdansk is a little milder than further south in Poland due to Gdansk being a coastal town but Polish winters are colder than what the UK and Ireland experiences and that increases the chances of snow.
Gdansk DOES get snow in December and around Christmas-time but it isn’t guaranteed. There is statistically more chance of snowfall in January and February.
You should still expect cold temperatures at this time of year and possibly icy conditions so make sure you pack appropriate clothes for your Gdansk weekend break.
